Don Kline Named NCCACI Distinguished Chapter Member

We are proud to announce that Don Kline, P.E., Founder and CEO of Kline Engineering & Consulting, has been named a Distinguished Chapter Member by the National Capital Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (NCCACI).

This recognition honors Don’s exceptional contributions to the chapter and his decades-long commitment to advancing the concrete industry through leadership, education, and innovation.

The award was presented during the NCCACI Chapter Dinner on October 21, 2025, where Don joined Carol Hayek, Ph.D. as co-presenter for a technical session on the newly published ACI-PTI 320 Post-Tensioned Concrete Code. Together, they offered valuable insights into the purpose, scope, and organization of the new code, and discussed how it complements ACI 318 while introducing key provisions that will guide the future of post-tensioned concrete design.

As the incoming Chair of ACI-PTI 320, Don continues to play a leading role in shaping national standards for post-tensioned concrete design and construction. His ongoing involvement in ACI and PTI committees, combined with over 30 years of hands-on experience in the design, repair, and rehabilitation of concrete structures, underscores his dedication to building smarter, stronger, and more resilient structures.

Congratulations to Don on this well-deserved recognition and for continuing to represent KLINE’s values of leadership, excellence, and innovation within the engineering community.

ABOUT THE NEW ACI-PTI 320 POST-TENSIONED CONCRETE CODE

The ACI-PTI 320-25 is a joint standard from the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) that provides minimum requirements for the materials, design, and detailing of post-tensioned concrete structures. This new code addresses both bonded and unbonded post-tensioning tendons in buildings and nonbuilding structures, covering aspects like strength, serviceability, durability, and construction. The code includes a commentary to explain the requirements, which are based on a consensus process and are designed to be used as a standalone standard or adopted by reference into general building codes.
