KLINE Team Attends 20th Annual Women in Construction Conference

October 16, 2026 | Arlington, VA

KLINE proudly participated in the 20th Annual Women in Construction (WIC) Conference, held at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View in Arlington, VA. Representing KLINE at this year’s event were Karla Ampuero, Strategic Initiatives & Marketing Leader, and Pramila Shrestha, Project Engineer II.

The WIC Conference is recognized as the East Coast’s premier forum for education, professional development, and networking for women in the built environment. Hosted annually since 2006, WIC brings together over 550 industry professionals, including general contractors, developers, engineers, architects, and consultants, from across the United States and Canada.

This year’s full-day program featured sessions on leadership development, technical innovations, and industry trends, along with case studies and open discussions on workforce diversity, mentorship, and the growing role of technology in construction.

In line with WIC’s mission to advance and empower women in the industry, a portion of the conference proceeds supports mission-aligned organizations such as the ACE Mentorship Program, which provides scholarships and mentorship to high school and college students pursuing careers in architecture, construction, and engineering. To date, WIC has donated over $75,000 toward educational and professional development initiatives.

Reflecting on the event, KLINE’s attendees highlighted key themes that resonate deeply with the company’s values:

“Attitude reflects leadership. The conversations reminded us how vital it is to attract and support new talent, particularly within skilled labor and minority groups. Embracing diversity is what builds America,” shared Karla Ampuero. “We also discussed how tools like AI are transforming our workflows—but what they can’t replace is the human connection that drives our relationships with clients and teams.”

KLINE remains committed to supporting initiatives that foster professional growth, celebrate diversity, and empower women to lead across all areas of the construction industry.
