Meet Upasana Khadka, KLINE’s Summer Engineering Intern
Kline Engineering & Consulting (KLINE) is pleased to welcome Upasana Khadka as our Summer Engineering Intern.
Originally from Kathmandu, Nepal, Upasana is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Engineering, at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she is expected to graduate in December 2026. Before beginning her graduate studies, she worked as an on-site civil engineer in Nepal, coordinating building construction projects and gaining valuable field experience.
Upasana Khadka
Growing up in Kathmandu, Upasana witnessed firsthand how rapidly developing infrastructure transformed her community. That experience inspired her to pursue a career in civil and structural engineering, with the goal of designing safe, functional, and resilient structures that positively impact the built environment. Her personal motto, "Continuous learning and persistence turn challenges into opportunities," reflects the mindset she brings to every project.
During her internship at KLINE, Upasana has gained hands-on experience on a variety of structural engineering projects while expanding her knowledge of structural analysis, bridge repairs, seismic anchorage, anchor bolt design, and post-tensioning systems. Working alongside experienced engineers has provided valuable insight into both design and consulting, helping bridge the gap between academic study and professional practice.
A special thank you goes to Joseph DuBois, PE, who has served as Upasana's primary mentor throughout the internship. His guidance and commitment to sharing his expertise have provided meaningful learning opportunities and reflect KLINE's dedication to developing the next generation of structural engineers.
We are proud to have Upasana as part of the KLINE team and look forward to seeing her continued growth as she pursues her career in structural engineering.
