Don Kline Appointed Chair of ACI-PTI 320 Committee

We’re proud to announce a major milestone for both KLINE and the structural engineering community: our founder and CEO, Don Kline, has been appointed as the new Chair of the ACI-PTI 320 Committee, the group responsible for developing the national design code for post-tensioned concrete structures.

Don is now leading the charge on the ACI-PTI 320-25 Building Code Requirements for Post-Tensioned Structural Concrete, the industry’s first unified code dedicated exclusively to the design and construction of post-tensioned buildings. His appointment follows a historic achievement in December 2024, when the committee finalized the inaugural version of the PT code during its last meeting in Philadelphia. This landmark document represents a leap forward in design guidance and constructability for PT structures across the U.S.

As Chair, Don will guide the committee through its next development cycle, which includes:

  • An interim code release planned for 2028

  • A full code update is scheduled for 2031

This is not only a professional honor—it’s a reflection of KLINE’s deep commitment to thought leadership, innovation, and the advancement of our industry.

We also want to thank Carol Hayek, Chief Technical Officer at CCL, the outgoing Chair, for her visionary leadership and tireless work in bringing the first edition of the PT code to life. Her contributions have laid the foundation for the next generation of structural excellence.

Please join us in congratulating Don on this exciting new role!

If you’re looking to join a firm that doesn’t just follow the code—but helps write it—check out our open positions. We’re always seeking passionate engineers who want to make a meaningful impact.
