Jaime Chirinos,

BIM Specialist II

Jaime Chirinos’s continuous drive to expand his skill set and critical thinking have underpinned his pursuit of providing high-quality service to clients. Born and raised in a close-knit family in Peru, Jaime decided to follow in his dad’s professional footsteps in becoming an engineer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas in Peru, followed by a degree from Universidad Europea de Madrid in Spain. Today, he is one of Kline’s BIM specialists and one of its most enthusiastic promoters of digital transformation technologies in construction.

Jaime has more than five years of civil engineering and BIM modeling experience and is proficient in REVIT, ETABS, ROBOT STRUCTURAL, SAP200, NAVISWORK, ArcGIS, MATLAB, and Ansys. Fueled by a deep passion for challenging endeavors, Jaime has contributed to projects like the new Jorge Chávez International Airport expansion in Lima, Peru, and the Green Belt 7 Bridges project in one of the largest man-made freshwater lakes in China, the Di Shui Lake in Shanghai. At Kline, his contribution has taken him to team up with Senior project engineers to redevelop historic buildings such as the Versailles Hotel, part of the new Aman Hotel and condo in Miami Beach, Florida.

Jaime’s personality can be described as an explorer: when he is not working, he enjoys surfing, boxing, reading, or playing guitar. He is fluent in Spanish and English and is studying Japanese, Chinese, and German. Jaime believes in technological developments as a way to ease people’s day-to-day problems; thus, he follows Nietzsche’s thought of thinking on the need for internal turmoil and constant questioning to stimulate the imagination and new ideas, therefore, innovation.  Whether the task is design-built, or detailing drawings, Jaime’s solution-driven personality and high-quality standards lead his way of working.  At Kline, he is a vocal advocate of the idea of being creators and not mere users of cutting-edge engineering software and tools, and has a proven track record of modeling challenging structures.

To Jaime, of all the engineering marvels there are, his favorite is The London Millennium Footbridge, a superb match of engineering and art located across the Thames River in Central London, UK. that close on its inaugural day due to significant shaking and swaying as a result of the impact of unexpected pedestrian-induced lateral vibration. For Jaime, understanding the major effect of an apparently insignificant overload synchronized walking on a massive structure was mind-blowing.

Kline Engineering’s solid moral and implacable work ethic is what attracted Jaime to be part of our team; today, he not only brings his engineering and modeling expertise to the company, but his self-reliant, quick-thinking, and superior job to every project he is part of.
