We are currently seeking a Structural Project Engineer II with a minimum of 2 years of structural engineering experience for our Manassas, Virginia office or Charlotte, North Carolina office.

The candidate will possess the following:

  • BS degree with emphasis on structural design and an MS degree is desirable.

  • Proficiency in reading and coordinating structural and architectural drawings.

  • Working knowledge of construction materials and processes, building systems, and Building Code Requirements.

  • Good knowledge of concrete, steel, and wood design.

  • Experience working in AutoCAD. Revit is desirable.

  • Positive team-oriented work style.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Bilingual-Spanish desirable.

  • Ability to conduct structural condition surveys on jobsites.

  • Ability to have fun while working with your team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Legally able to work in the United States. This is a direct-hire and in-person position from either our offices in Charlotte, NC., or Manassas, VA. This is not a remote position.

General functions:

  • Manages, coordinates, and designs projects with PM’s guidance.

  • Receives instruction and direction on unconventional and/or complex projects.

  • Receives final review at project milestone and/or on completion.

  • Manage RFI's and submittals.

  • Prepares technical and engineering correspondence and reports

  • Prepares engineering documents including structural drawings, material lists, reinforcements, and structural specifications for a wide variety of structures.

  • Designs new commercial, residential, and institutional buildings, and parking structures. The work will include condition assessments of existing structures and design of repair and strengthening strategies.
