Aman Hotel & Residences Miami Beach is a luxury beachfront complex consisting of two white 16-story towers in the contemporary Faena District of South Beach, FL. The first tower is a redevelopment of the historic Versailles Hotel completed in the 1940’s that will be restored and rebranded to a 56--guest suites Aman Hotel. The second tower will be a 23-unit Aman-branded condo that will be a new addition to the landscape.

Beginning in 2022, Kline was retained to provide structural design services for the stabilization and restoration of this historic Versailles building that will be incorporated into this new mixed-use development at this prime beachfront site in the iconic section of Miami Beach. Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board requires that the new development preserve and incorporate this historic façade, including the cupola into the new Aman Hotel. Hence, Kline performed a comprehensive structural condition assessment of the concrete frame and masonry façade.

Our team developed a temporary shoring and bracing system that is used to stabilize the structure during construction and provided design and inspection services for the structural rehabilitation of the building. Finally, Kline is providing final design of the new Hotel structure including new below grade levels.

All repairs are expected to be completed in 2023, with the completion of the new hotel in 2025.
